Jack Mackerel (Trachurus Murphyi) also known as Peruvian Jack Mackerel or Chilean Jack Mackerel belongs to the family Carangidae. Jack Mackerel are usually found at depts between 30 to 230 feet and can swim upto the depts of 900 plus feet. Jack Mackerels can grow upto 70 cm in length. The meat is cloudy white to pink and fatty with tender taste.
