Monkfish (Lophius Gastrophysus) have small eyes and large heads and mouths. Monkfish are deep water bottom dwellers and found from North Atlantic all the way down to Brazil. Female monkfish grow larger and live longer than male monkfish. Females can grow more than 137 cm and males can grow over 90 cm. Monkfish have smiliar texture and flavor to lobster, having mild, sweet flavor.
