Hilsa (Tenualosa Toli) also known as Toli shad or Chinese herring and belong to the family Clupeidae. Hilsa are mainly found in the western Indian Ocean to South China Sea. Males can reach a max length of 60 cm. Hilsa has as firm and tendure texture with rich sweet flavor.
