Atlantic mackerel (Scomber Scombrus) are blue green on the back and white underbelly. They have a life expectancy upto 20 years and grow very fast. They can grow upto 42 cm and around 1 kg (2.2 lbs) approximately. Atlantic mackerel travel in schools and are found usually between 200-700 feet. Atlantic mackerel has a rich flavor and the meat is soft, flaky and moist.
